During a Kurnool Zilla Parishad general body meeting, Chairperson Errabothula Papireddy directed officials to coordinate efforts and develop an integrated action plan to address recurring water shortages in vulnerable areas. Key priorities identified include strengthening drinking water facilities by ensuring mother water plants and Rural Water Supply plants operate efficiently, providing alternative water arrangements during NH-167K road works, and implementing long-term water conservation and storage measures for the water-stressed western parts of the district. The meeting also highlighted concerns over sagging electricity lines and called for immediate corrective measures, timely compensation for families affected by electrical accidents, and addressing staff shortages in power distribution. District officials including Nandyal District Collector G. Rajakumari and Kurnool Collector A. Siri committed to prioritizing the issues raised, while also confirming adequate fertilizer stocks for eligible farmers.
