Acting on a tip-off, police led by the Nungambakkam Police Station Inspector conducted surveillance in a cremation ground area on Monday morning and questioned a man in a parked car. A search of the vehicle revealed ganja concealed inside, leading to the arrest of Praveen, 25, a resident of Nungambakkam. During investigation, authorities determined that Praveen had procured the ganja from Andhra Pradesh through an associate and had been distributing it illegally throughout the city. The suspect has an extensive criminal history with 17 pending cases at Nungambakkam Police Station, including three murder cases, one attempt-to-murder case, narcotics offences, and robbery charges. Police also seized a car and mobile phone from the suspect.
