After shots were fired outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments in April 2024, a narrative spread online: that the shooter, Ketan Kakkad, had previously tried to seek justice through official channels and been ignored. The verdict on this claim is unverifiable — there is no credible evidence it is true, but also no definitive proof it is false.

Times of India confirmed Kakkad as a suspect in the shooting but found no consistent reporting on any prior grievance complaints he may have made to authorities. The coverage that did exist was limited and contradictory, not the kind of paper trail you would expect if formal complaints had actually been filed.

NDTV and India Today both covered the incident in depth, but neither outlet found or reported evidence that Kakkad had formally approached law enforcement with complaints against Khan before the shooting. What both outlets did report extensively was Kakkad's alleged connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — a detail that points toward organized criminal motivation rather than a personal grievance ignored by the system.

To be fair to the strongest version of this claim: it is possible that informal complaints or approaches were made that left no public record. Absence of evidence is not always evidence of absence. But a claim this specific — that someone went to authorities and was turned away — should leave a trace. None has surfaced from any verified source.

This kind of story spreads easily because it fits a familiar and emotionally resonant template: a powerless person ignored by a system that protects the famous and wealthy.
