The most direct confirmation comes from the Press Information Bureau, Government of India, which issued a release in 2022-2023 identifying Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, also designated 21 Corps, with headquarters at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This is a primary government source, not a secondhand claim. The Print's defence desk independently reported Seth's assumption of command of the same formation in 2022, corroborating the PIB record.

On the corps itself, Indian Army organizational documents and Indian defence research institutions — including IDSA and Bharat Rakshak — consistently classify 21 Corps as one of India's three Strike Corps, meaning formations designed and structured for deep offensive operations rather than holding or defensive roles. The other two Strike Corps are the Kharga Corps (1 Corps, Mathura) and the Brahmastra Corps (2 Corps, Ambala). The Sudarshan Chakra Corps fits squarely within this well-documented offensive tier.

There is no meaningful steelman to construct here. The claim is specific — a named officer, a named corps, a defined role, a named city — and each element is independently verifiable through official and credible secondary sources.
