T.O. Philip, Pioneer of Kerala's Advertising Industry, Dies at 86

Thattaniyath T.O. Philip, chairman and managing director of Kerala Publicity Bureau and a founding figure in Kerala's advertising sector, passed away on Thursday at age 86. Philip founded the first INS-accredited advertising agency in Kerala and was instrumental in establishing the Kerala Advertising Agencies Association. He was also deeply involved in social and community organizations, leaving behind his wife and three children.

Thattaniyath T.O. Philip, 86, a pioneering figure in Kerala's advertising industry, passed away on Thursday. As chairman and managing director of Kerala Publicity Bureau, he established the first INS-accredited advertising agency in Kerala and founded the Kerala Advertising Agencies Association in Kottayam. Beyond his business achievements, Philip was actively engaged in numerous social and community initiatives, serving as general secretary of the Knanaya Yuvajana Samajam and the E.M. Philip Foundation, and holding leadership positions in several religious and cultural organizations including Kottayam Valiyapally and the Knanaya Association. His funeral was scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Mary's Knanaya Valiyapally in Thazhathangady. He is survived by his wife Rajamma Philip and three children: Jaison, Jebison, and Juby Philip.
