SIPCOT, a state-owned corporation traditionally focused on industrial parks, has proposed establishing an eco-tourism park at Top Sengattupatti on Pachamalai hills in the Eastern Ghats, covering 3.47 acres. The land was selected in coordination with the Tourism Department and Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation. The Tiruchi Collector has completed field inspection and forwarded the proposal to the State government, where it is currently under review by the Commissioner of Land Administration (CLA) in Chennai. Once the CLA approves the proposal, a Government Order will be issued, followed by land acquisition and transfer to SIPCOT's control. The corporation plans to lease plots to hospitality industry players interested in developing hill resorts and hotels, with sources indicating that several such players have already expressed interest in the project.
