Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday morning via special flight for a three-day official visit centered on attending the 11th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting scheduled for Thursday. Upon arrival at Tamil Nadu House, he was welcomed by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar and other officials, and received a guard of honour. In the evening, Vijay called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and met Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan at his office, marking the first time he has met both dignitaries since becoming Chief Minister. He also held discussions with Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi at their residence, and visited the Communist Party of India headquarters to meet party general secretary D. Raja and other leaders. Vijay is expected to deliver a speech during Thursday's NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting.
