Studiocanal's in-house genre label Sixth Dimension has boarded the horror thriller 'Home Safety Hotline,' a film adaptation of Night Signal Entertainment's puzzle video game. The project brings together Los Angeles-based Spooky Pictures, Abu Dhabi-based Image Nation, and the L.A./UAE-based Longevity Pictures, with Michael Matthews ('Love and Monsters') directing from a screenplay by Nick Tassoni ('Lure'). Production is scheduled to begin in South Africa in early 2027. The film follows an unemployed loner who takes a job at a mysterious home security company that protects customers from nighttime monsters. Sixth Dimension will co-develop, co-finance, handle worldwide sales, and release the film theatrically across Studiocanal's territories including the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand. The deal underscores Studiocanal's commitment to South African production following Canal+'s recent acquisition of pay-TV company MultiChoice Group.
