South Korean Pizza Chain Pizza Maru Achieves Halal Certification in Singapore
Pizza Maru, a popular South Korean pizza chain, has received official halal certification from Singapore's Islamic Religious Council (MUIS) for all four of its local outlets. The chain, which first entered Singapore in 2017, operates at Bugis+, Plaza Singapura, Changi Airport Terminal 2, and an express outlet at i12 Katong. The certification expands the brand's accessibility to Muslim consumers in Singapore and is being marked with new menu items and a promotional discount.
All four Pizza Maru outlets in Singapore — located at Bugis+, Plaza Singapura, Changi Airport Terminal 2, and i12 Katong — are now listed as halal-certified on the official MUIS e-Service directory. The South Korean chain, founded in 2006 and recognized as South Korea's largest Korean pizza brand, has been operating in Singapore since 2017 and also has a presence in China, Thailand, and the Philippines. To mark the certification milestone, Pizza Maru has introduced two new Ban Ban (half-and-half) pizzas: a Hawaiian Margherita Ban Ban Pizza with a sweet potato mousse-stuffed crust, and a Pepperoni Oppa Ban Ban Pizza with a cheesy crust. As a promotional offer, dine-in customers can enjoy 50 per cent off all Ban Ban pizzas from June 25 to 27. The halal certification broadens the chain's appeal in Singapore, where a significant portion of the population observes halal dietary requirements.
