Seven people injured after vehicle crashes into London, Ontario mall fitness centre

A driver crashed a vehicle through a brick wall and into a GoodLife Fitness centre at Sherwood Forest Mall in London, Ontario on Friday morning, injuring seven people. Police Chief Thai Truong confirmed the vehicle accelerated intentionally into the building during what appeared to be a fitness class, and the driver has been arrested with criminal charges expected. Two victims remained in critical condition as of Friday afternoon, including one who was pinned beneath the vehicle.
The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on June 12, 2026, when a vehicle smashed through an exterior brick wall at the rear of a GoodLife Fitness facility inside Sherwood Forest Mall, near Wonderland and Gainsborough roads. All seven injured — including the driver — were women, and life-saving measures were performed at the scene before paramedics transported them to hospital. Five were taken in serious condition and two with minor injuries, according to police. Police Chief Thai Truong stated investigators have evidence the vehicle deliberately accelerated into the building, and the driver was subsequently arrested; charges are expected. One victim was pinned beneath the vehicle and had to be extricated, and as of Friday afternoon one of the two critical patients was reclassified as serious. London Health Sciences Centre activated a Level 1 Code Orange in response to the influx of patients, though it was later cleared. Fire officials used structural struts to support the damaged wall opening, and a structural engineer was on-site to assess stability. Police explicitly stated there is no evidence of terrorism, and London Mayor Josh Morgan praised the coordinated emergency response.
What's missing
The specific criminal charges anticipated against the driver have not yet been disclosed, nor has the driver's identity been released publicly. While police ruled out terrorism, no further information about motive has been provided.
