Seven people injured after vehicle crashes into London, Ontario mall fitness centre

The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on June 12, 2026, when a vehicle smashed through an exterior brick wall at the rear of a GoodLife Fitness facility inside Sherwood Forest Mall, near Wonderland and Gainsborough roads. All seven injured — including the driver — were women, and life-saving measures were performed at the scene before paramedics transported them to hospital. Five were taken in serious condition and two with minor injuries, according to police. Police Chief Thai Truong stated investigators have evidence the vehicle deliberately accelerated into the building, and the driver was subsequently arrested; charges are expected. One victim was pinned beneath the vehicle and had to be extricated, and as of Friday afternoon one of the two critical patients was reclassified as serious. London Health Sciences Centre activated a Level 1 Code Orange in response to the influx of patients, though it was later cleared. Fire officials used structural struts to support the damaged wall opening, and a structural engineer was on-site to assess stability. Police explicitly stated there is no evidence of terrorism, and London Mayor Josh Morgan praised the coordinated emergency response.
