RT Features, the Brazil-based production company led by Rodrigo Teixeira, has boarded 'Bodies of Summer,' a science fiction drama directed by Argentine filmmaker Iván Fund and co-written by Fund and novelist Martín Felipe Castagnet. The film is set in a speculative future where death is no longer permanent—consciousness can be transferred to new bodies for a price—and follows a character named Rana who returns to life after 100 years as digital data in a makeshift body, seeking his now-elderly son who chooses natural death over the system. Fund recently won the Silver Bear Jury Prize at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival for 'The Message,' his second collaboration with Castagnet, and 'Bodies of Summer' marks their third feature together. Castagnet's novel won the Saint-Nazaire MEET Young Latin American Literature Award and was selected by Granta Magazine as among the best young writers in Spanish language. Teixeira's RT Features will fully finance the production, continuing the producer's track record of backing acclaimed international and independent filmmakers including Noah Baumbach, Kelly Reichardt, and Robert Eggers.
