Police detained 32 suspected ganja consumers during a raid on the residence of a repeat narcotics offender in Nanakramguda, Hyderabad on June 10, 2026. The suspect, Kalapathi Nithu Bai, has been booked in at least 18 cases under narcotics laws and was previously arrested in 2023 and 2024 in major trafficking cases involving seizures of large quantities of cannabis and cash. The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution networks operating from residential areas in the city.

Police teams including personnel from Gachibolwi police and EAGLE Force conducted a raid on the residence of 46-year-old Kalapathi Nithu Bai at Lodha Basti, Nanakramguda, on June 10, 2026. While the house was found locked, 32 persons allegedly arrived at the location intending to purchase ganja and were taken into custody for questioning. Nithu Bai is a repeat offender with at least 18 previous bookings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. In August 2023, she was arrested in a major trafficking case where authorities seized large quantities of cannabis and ₹40.3 lakh in cash, subsequently freezing 16 bank accounts containing ₹1.53 crore and attaching immovable properties worth approximately ₹2 crore acquired through drug proceeds. In March 2024, she was arrested again along with three family members in connection with a ganja distribution network that sourced cannabis in bulk at ₹8,000 per kg and sold it in 5-gram packets for ₹450-₹500 to customers across Hyderabad and Cyberabad. Despite previous detention under the Preventive Detention Act in 2021 and jail time, she allegedly resumed drug peddling from her residence.

Former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe cautioned Drake Maye about the intense pressure that follows a successful season, advising him to temper expectations after the Patriots nearly won the MVP and Super Bowl last year. The advice comes as Maye heads into his third season facing a more challenging schedule than the Patriots' beneficial one from last year.
