Hong Kong Proposes Doubling Size of Lau Fau Shan Tech Hub to 30 Hectares

1 source

Hong Kong authorities have proposed expanding a planned digital technology hub in Lau Fau Shan from 15 to 30 hectares, with landmark buildings permitted to reach up to 250 metres in height. The expansion is part of the Northern Metropolis megaproject, which aims to create a tech hub and ecotourism node near the planned Lau Fau Shan station on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link. The proposal will be discussed by the Yuen Long District Council's town planning committee and reflects Hong Kong's efforts to develop new economic zones in the northern region.

Hong Kong authorities have proposed doubling the size of a planned digital technology hub in Lau Fau Shan under the Northern Metropolis megaproject, expanding it from 15 to 30 hectares with a total floor area of approximately 900,000 square metres. Under the amended proposal, landmark buildings would be permitted to reach up to 250 metres in height, equivalent to 50 to 80 storeys depending on floor heights. Building height limits would decrease for sites closer to the waterfront and sensitive locations, falling to as low as 20 metres near the historic Sha Kong Tsuen Tin Hau Temple. The 30-hectare expansion is roughly equivalent to one and a half times the size of Victoria Park. The tech hub is part of the broader Northern Metropolis initiative, which is expected to provide 43,200 new jobs and 48,900 residential flats while serving dual purposes as a digital technology hub and ecotourism node near the planned Lau Fau Shan station on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link.

Former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe cautioned Drake Maye about the intense pressure that follows a successful season, advising him to temper expectations after the Patriots nearly won the MVP and Super Bowl last year. Bledsoe, who was in a similar position at age 24 with New England before losing his starting job to Tom Brady, warned that high expectations can lead to unfair criticism. The advice comes as Maye heads into his third season facing a more challenging schedule than the Patriots' beneficial one from last year.
