German news weekly Der Spiegel and public broadcaster ZDF reported on June 10 that a German model identified only as 'Michele' appears in the Epstein files, deepening concerns about her fate nearly 11 years after she vanished. Michele left her family home in September 2015 at age 22 and has not been in contact with her family since. She had a long-standing relationship with model recruiter Daniel Siad, who is currently under investigation in France on accusations of helping Jeffrey Epstein traffic and abuse women — accusations Siad denies. Siad's name appears frequently in the Epstein files, in emails where he sent Epstein photos of women along with their physical measurements; he also sent photos of Michele and wrote that Epstein would 'love her.' However, Der Spiegel notes there is no proof Michele ever met Epstein, and two former Epstein assistants said they had never seen her. Siad and his lawyer did not respond to multiple requests for comment from the outlets. Michele's mother told Der Spiegel she fears the worst, saying, 'I think she's no longer alive. That something was done to her.'
