Adani Solar Ranks 6th in Wood Mackenzie's 2026 Global Solar Module Manufacturer Rankings

1 source

Adani Solar has been ranked sixth globally in Wood Mackenzie's 2026 Global Solar Photovoltaic Module Manufacturer Rankings, receiving a Grade A classification. The company improved from eighth place in the previous ranking and is the highest-ranked Indian firm in the assessment of 48 manufacturers. This achievement reflects India's growing domestic solar manufacturing capacity and positions Adani as a key player in reducing the country's dependence on imported solar modules.

Adani Solar, the solar manufacturing arm of Adani New Industries Ltd, has achieved sixth place in Wood Mackenzie's annual global rankings of PV module manufacturers, evaluated on parameters including capacity utilization, technology maturity, financial performance, supply chain resilience, and operational strength. The company received a Grade A classification and improved from its eighth-place ranking in the previous assessment, making it the only Indian manufacturer in the global top 10. Adani Solar currently operates 2 GW of ingot and wafer capacity and 4 GW each of solar cell and module manufacturing capacity, with expansion plans underway at its Mundra facility to reach 10 GW annual capacity. The ranking comes as India rapidly expands domestic solar manufacturing, with module capacity growing from 38 GW in March 2024 to 74 GW in March 2025, supported by government incentive schemes and tariffs. The company has also been recognized in independent reliability assessments and saw domestic solar module sales surge 95 percent in Q4 FY26.
